Inner West — council clean-up guide
Inner West residents can book a bulky waste collection for large household items that do not fit in the bins. There are four separate categories — book each category on its own because different trucks collect each stream.
Official clean-up page Make a booking
The four categories
1. Bulky household items & furniture
Collects: broken furniture and damaged household items; bed frames; used/damaged rugs; broken small appliances.

Limits, fees and presentation
- Limit: no more than 2 cubic metres per collection (about 2 m × 1 m × 1 m).
- Extra collection fee (official page conflict — do not rely on one figure): The same Inner West clean-up page currently shows $183.50 in the Terms and conditions (extra collection of up to 2 m³, bulky household items and furniture category only) and $150 in FAQ #5 (re-book and pay for an additional 2 cubic metres). Confirm the current fee on the booking portal before paying — live Inner West clean-up page.
- Write your booking reference on paper and place it on the pile.
- Place items neatly on the street the evening before collection (not inside the property). Do not block the footpath.
- Remove doors and locks from refrigerators.
- Change or cancel at least 48 hours before the collection date.
- Service is for properties paying the domestic waste management charge.
